In 2008, Ministry of Culture Laine Jänes approved the conservation plan “Sacred Natural Sites in Estonia: Study and Maintenance” for the years 2008 – 2012.
The conservation plan aims to
- protect and value Estonia’s material and spiritual heritage
- review and map sacred natural sites
- arrange the protection of the sacred sites
- raise awareness of the meaning and significance of the sacred natural sites in society
